Making movies about scientists and their personal lives, you can attract the viewer's attention to science. This was told to "Izvestia" on November 28, development director of "NMG Doc" Alexei Fedorko on the margins of the IV Congress of Young Scientists.

The specialist said that the session "Media field is given to entertainment. Does intelligence have a chance?" in which he took part, was devoted to the promotion of scientific content in the media field, which is now dominated by entertainment products. The discussion turned into a lively debate that showed that entertainment and scientific content are two different worlds.

"Only when you make a movie about a person, about his inner life, about his conflicts and including his personal life, you can indirectly draw attention to what he does," Fedorko noted.

He noted that the movie, which tells only about scientific achievements, most likely, will not be interesting even to the scientists themselves. The specialist reminded that the film "Oppenheimer" by American director Christopher Nolan also tells not only about nuclear weapons from a scientific point of view.

Fedorko pointed out that now people are used to using social networks and consume information in them quickly, and "NMG Doc" takes this trend into account. According to the development director, it is necessary to seek a compromise between scientific information and entertainment, and documentaries, which are about 1.5 hours long, can be adapted to social networks. This will help to hit the tastes of the audience and expand the range of viewers.

Earlier, "NMG Doc" presented a documentary-game film "Alexander the Third", which premiered on November 1 on REN TV. The picture tells about the life of the great Russian Emperor. He ruled for only 13 years, but during this time he made Russia a powerful economic and industrial power, which is considered the whole world. Project director Sergei Ayrapetov said that the main task of the creators of the movie was to recreate the famous stories that happened to the emperor. This was necessary to create the right atmosphere around the main character.

Film critic Ilona Egiazarova in a conversation with Izvestia on October 30 shared that the film "Alexander the Third" helps to look at the historical figure from different angles and combines several genres. This is important because there are different opinions about the personality of the emperor himself. In addition, the appearance of elements of reality and thriller in the documentary, according to Yeghiazarova, intrigues the viewer.
