Rostransnadzor will check Azimut after the incident with the plane in Antalya


The Federal Service for Supervision of Transport will conduct an inspection of Azimut Airlines after the fire of a Sukhoi Superjet at the airport of Turkish Antalya. This was reported to journalists on November 28 by the press service of Rosaviatsia.
"Unscheduled, coordinated with the Southern Transport Prosecutor's Office inspection of the airline "Azimut" for the implementation of aviation legislation will be conducted by specialists of Rostransnadzor", - stated in the message of the agency.
The purpose of the inspection is a comprehensive analysis of Azimut's work in the field of safety.

AirportHaber portal reported that the airport runway was temporarily closed because of the fire. Deputy airport manager Suat Seyitoglu specified that the Sukhoi Superjet's engine caught fire, the fire was extinguished. The next day a criminal case was opened over the incident. Specialists have preliminarily estimated that the damage from the incident amounted to at least 1 million rubles.
The Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Antalya reported that some Russians safely left the airport. The rest decided to wait for baggage claim and were provided with food. Those passengers who were supposed to take a return flight to Russia on the plane that caught fire will stay in a hotel until a reserve plane arrives.
