The expert told how to choose the right electric garland

There are several factors that speak about the quality of an electric garland. Fyodor Vasiliev, a construction expert, founder and general director of Glasnab, told Izvestia on November 29 about how to choose the perfect garland for New Year's holidays.

"The first thing we look at the packaging: it should have a label in Russian with information about the manufacturer, wire length and material, color, level of moisture resistance, supply voltage and other data about the product. Open the box in the store and inspect the garland: it should not have an unpleasant odor, the insulation should not have visible damage, the connection point of the wire with the plug and power supply should be strong and flexible enough," he said.

Also the interlocutor of the publication advised to check the operation of buttons or switches, so that everything was working. In addition, he emphasized, in the box from the garland should be a certificate of conformity, which confirms the safety of the product.

According to the expert, it is important to pay attention to the type of bulbs. So, classic incandescent bulbs create a warm, cozy light, but consume a lot of energy and burn out quickly. LEDs (light-emitting diodes) - a more economical and durable option, offering a wide choice of colors and modes of glow: blinking, flickering, smooth switching. Neon garlands, Vasiliev added, are a bright but less versatile choice, suitable for creating a particular style.

The second factor for choosing a garland is its length. For the correct selection of the product, it is necessary to measure the site in advance, taking into account the features of architecture and obstacles. To pick up the garland on the Christmas tree, you need to add to its height of 1.5 meters - without a lack of reserve it will be difficult to connect it, explained the specialist.

The third factor is the color of the garland, he added. Traditionally, for a festive New Year's atmosphere are used white - cold or warm shade. Colored garlands are also popular when decorating a Christmas tree. Among other things, the shape of the garland is also important, Vasiliev emphasized. Threads are a universal option for decorating Christmas trees, walls, railings. Grids are ideal for large surfaces, for example, to decorate the facade of the house, and curtains create a fairy-tale effect, especially look good on windows. Icicles, on the other hand, are a stylish solution for creating a shimmering cascade.

"You need to be careful with garlands: do not use products with unsuitable IP rating outdoors, do not hang garlands near heating radiators, heaters and in places with high humidity. When leaving the house do not leave the New Year's illumination on," - summarized the expert.
