Russian laptops will rise in price by 20% in 2025, Kamil Khuzhiakhmetov, founder of the Russian laptop brand Echips, told Izvestia on November 28.

He linked the increase in their cost to the increase in income tax to 25% from next year. Another reason, according to the expert, is the growing key rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, against which the interest on loans increases, and thus the cost of production or services.

The third influencing factor is the complicated schemes of netting with Chinese partners.

"Almost all key components and spare parts are supplied from this country, we have a huge and dynamically growing trade turnover - for eight months of this year it reached almost $160 billion. But despite this, settlements with the Chinese are a real headache, because it is almost impossible to conduct them directly, bypassing special financial agents," he said, adding that earlier intermediaries took 2.5% for their services, but now the commission can reach 10%.

Also, according to the expert, pricing is affected by the difference in the exchange rate and the increase in the cost of transportation expenses.

"For example, just since the summer, the exchange rate of the yuan to the ruble has already increased by 15% and continues to rise. In addition, this year China has raised prices for rail and sea transportation," Huzhiakhmetov added.

The ways of supplying goods to Russia are changing, more and more often third countries are used for transit, which affects the complexity of logistics, its timing and cost, Huzhiakhmetov concluded.

Earlier, on September 26, it was reported that the demand for computer repair services in Russia has increased many times. IT equipment began to be repaired and serviced more often due to rising PC prices, increased cybercrime, as well as the withdrawal from the market of service centers of foreign brands, market participants told Izvestia.
