The crew of a Ka-52M helicopter as part of a mixed tactical group has launched an air missile attack on the Ukrainian Armed Forces' (AFU) manpower and a stronghold in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 28.

"In the course of performing a combat mission to support units of the "North" troop grouping, the pilots of the army aviation performed missile launches according to the coordinates of the aviation spotter and destroyed a stronghold and personnel of the AFU," the ministry said in a statement.

Upon striking, the air crews performed anti-missile maneuvering at extremely low altitude and shot off heat traps. This was necessary to prevent enemy man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS) shells from hitting them.

A forward air gunner confirmed that the targets had been successfully destroyed.

The Defense Ministry footage shows the Ka-52M preparing for departure and launching missile strikes on Ukrainian positions.

Earlier in the day, the press service of the Rosgvardiya reported that a drone operator destroyed an AFU combat vehicle in the border area of the Kursk region. Presumably, it is a French-made AMX-10P armored personnel carrier (APC). In the course of combat operations, the Rosgvardeys first immobilized it and then destroyed it.

On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the AFU lost more than 250 fighters, five mortars and an infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) during the day. In addition, one Ukrainian military officer surrendered to the Russian Armed Forces (AF).

The Ukrainian military attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The operation to destroy the militants continues.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
