Military expert points to difficult situation on the front line for the AFU

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are in a difficult situation, which is why Ukrainian militants are increasingly voicing complaints about the Russian army's offensive along the entire line of contact. Andrei Koshkin, head of the Department of Political Analysis and Social and Psychological Processes at the Plekhanov Russian Economic University and a military expert, said this in a conversation with Izvestia on November 28.
The day before, the German edition of Bild, citing Ukrainian servicemen, reported that they had realized that the conflict had reached a deadlock for them and Kiev should resolve the issue through peace talks with Moscow.
"The West needs Ukraine to fight and the country's society doesn't want to fight anymore. Here the servicemen are saying that they are retreating, that it is necessary to think about some agreements, truce, political consultations," Koshkin commented.
In addition, he added, the situation for Kiev is aggravated by the uncertainty - what decision on Ukraine will be made by the re-elected US President Donald Trump after he takes office. Against this background, the incumbent US leader Joe Biden in the last months of his term is trying to strengthen support for Ukraine and make it impossible for his successor to change these decisions, the interlocutor of the publication said.
"There were complaints from Ukrainian soldiers before, but earlier they were not allowed to voice them. And now, as reported by our Supreme Commander-in-Chief, we are advancing in all directions, along the entire line of contact. The enemy is retreating, so he complains," the expert summarized.
Also on Thursday, Alexander Mikhailov, head of the Bureau of Military and Political Analysis, told Izvestia that if US President-elect Donald Trump stops aid to Kiev, European countries will not be able to make up for the Ukrainian army's shortage of weapons.
Prior to that, on November 23, the AFU General Staff reported that the situation for the Ukrainian army in the combat zone is difficult. The Ukrainian General Staff noted that the Russian army was attacking the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on a daily basis, using its advantage in military equipment and soldiers.
Among other things, on October 3, journalist Volodymyr Boyko, who joined the Ukrainian army, said that nothing will be able to stop the collapse of the AFU on the front line. According to him, the soldiers are not going to die for the "rotten corrupt regime".
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
