Samara Region Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev said on November 28 that he had passed the facts of corruption schemes in Russian soccer to law enforcement agencies.

"Saw the statement of the Russian Premier League, all the teams gathered, discussed and passed a resolution that everything is fine, and asked me to pass the facts to them regarding my statement. I passed the facts to the law enforcement agencies, they are tightly engaged. In the interests of the investigation, I can't voice them," he said in a video published in his Telegram channel.

Fedorishchev expressed disappointment that the clubs of the Russian Premier League (RPL) demanded confirmation of corruption in soccer. In conclusion, the Samara Region governor emphasized that he was in favor of "clean sport".

Earlier, on November 26, Fedorishchev told the Russian State Council's commission on sports development that he had learned about a debt of 36 million rubles owed by the Krylya Sovetov soccer club to "criminals who are engaged in corruption in the referee corps of Russian soccer." According to him, such a system has been in place for several years. The governor proposed to refuse to finance the said scheme at the expense of taxpayers' money.

The Russian Football Union considered the facts of corruption in the referee corps, which the governor stated, as a reason to appeal to law enforcement agencies.

Later, on November 28, RPL clubs asked Fedorishchev to provide information about corruption schemes in professional soccer. They noted that they value business reputation, trust of fans and relations with business partners.

In turn, the RPL said that they are ready to initiate an appeal to law enforcement agencies and the jurisdictional bodies of the Russian Football Union (RFU) to punish those responsible.
