Russians named the most favorite winter entertainments

Skiing has become the most popular winter entertainment according to Russians, with more than 20% of respondents voting for this leisure option. Izvestia got acquainted with the results of the survey by SberStrakhovanie and Rambler&Co media holding on November 29.

"Cross-country skiing is the most popular - it was mentioned by 22% of respondents, hiking on snow-covered routes (20%), as well as skating and sledding (9% each). A little less popular are tubing (8%), alpine skiing and snowboarding (10%) and winter fishing - 5% of respondents are fond of it. Another 17% indicated other types of activities", - says the results of the survey, which was attended by 31 thousand people.

In addition, 56% of survey participants noted that winter entertainment is a great opportunity to spend more time with family members. Leisure in the company of friends is preferred by 13% of respondents, colleagues or organized groups to which they join themselves - 2%. Entertainment alone was chosen by 29% of respondents.

The advantages of winter vacation were named by 34% of Russians as being in the fresh air, beautiful winter landscapes - 21% and time spent with family and friends - 12%. Respondents also mentioned active leisure and keeping fit (11%), the possibility of seclusion away from the hustle and bustle of the city (10%) and the development of sports skills (4%). The remaining 8% highlighted other advantages of the winter season. At the same time, the majority of survey participants said that strong frosts and wind prevent them from enjoying active vacations to the fullest extent.

"For most people, winter entertainment remains affordable and does not require significant financial investments. More than half of the survey participants (57%) do not spend money on winter activities at all. Every sixth (18%) settles in the amount of up to 5 thousand rubles per season, another 10% allocate up to 10 thousand rubles for this, 20% - more significant amounts", - reported the analysts.

Earlier, on November 8, "Izvestia" got acquainted with the study of experts of hotel booking service from "2GIS" "Othello", according to which the most popular destinations for New Year's travel in Russia were St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, Moscow and the Moscow region. Kazan, Krasnodar Territory and Baikal were also in the top 5. Not far from the leaders were Karelia, Altai and Veliky Ustyug. Only 1% each chose Murmansk and Sakhalin from the presented options.
