Trump's Ukraine envoy Kellogg says he intends to establish peace by force


Keith Kellogg, who was nominated by the winner of the US presidential election, Republican Donald Trump, for the post of the president's special representative for Ukraine, has expressed readiness to establish peace in the Ukrainian conflict by force. Kellogg wrote about this on November 27 on his page in the social network X (former Twitter).
"I am honored by my appointment as Assistant to the President and Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia. It has been an honor to work for President Trump, and I look forward to working tirelessly to bring peace through strength while advancing America's interests," Kellogg wrote.
He added that he is ready to show the dedication and commitment worthy of his new post.
Kellogg attached to his publication Trump's message from the page of the newly elected US president in his social network Truth Social, which also contains a phrase about establishing peace in the conflict in Ukraine with the use of force. Moreover, Trump emphasized on this thought. The politician in his publication noted Kellogg's military and business career, recalling that he held very important national security positions during Trump's first presidential term.
At the same time, Der Spiegel magazine reported on Nov. 28 that Kellogg will face an almost impossible mission in his new position, and he is unlikely to be able to cope with it. The publication noted that Trump's promises about a quick settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, sounded during the election campaign, were very pompous, reports "Gazeta.Ru".
Earlier, on November 27, CNN reported that Trump's future national security adviser Mike Waltz is looking for optimal ways to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. In particular, the official states that it is necessary to restore peace and get ahead of the escalation ladder, rather than just reacting to it. The TV channel suggests that the Trump administration will try to establish a ceasefire in the Ukrainian crisis in order to freeze it for the duration of the negotiations.
Trump, for his part, speaking at the White House for the first time since winning the election on Nov. 15, promised to "work very hard" to end the Ukrainian conflict. He emphasized that it is necessary to prevent an increase in the number of victims of the crisis.
The election of the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Speaking to supporters, the Republican said that he considers his goal as head of state to be the cessation of military conflicts in the world.
The last round of talks between Russia and Ukraine took place in Istanbul on March 29, 2022. They lasted about three hours. Later, Kiev officially refused contacts with Moscow.
