Lukashenko pointed to the powerful impact of "Oreshnik" on the global community

The newest strike hypersonic missile system "Oreshnik" has cooled those who put the world on the brink of World War III. Such a statement was made by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on November 28 on the margins of the CSTO summit in Astana.

The Belarusian leader praised the Russian missile system and emphasized that its use has led to confusion in the West.

"It has already cooled down. We can see this immediately from the media statements. You see, it's true, that there is no unified line anymore, everything has gone in bits and pieces. This shows that a bit confused," he said. His words are quoted by journalist Pavel Zarubin in his Telegram channel.

Lukashenko called the Oreshnik a good weapon, comparable in power to a nuclear weapon, but without penetrating radiation and contamination of the area.

"So the impact is strong on the world community, especially on those who thought everything would go around. It will not get around," he concluded.

Earlier during the summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Oreshnik has 10 separating blocks that attack the target and everything in the epicenter of the explosion turns to dust. He indicated that there are no analogs of the system in the world and, in his opinion, they will not appear soon.

On November 21, the Russian president said that Ukraine had used Western long-range weapons against the Russian state, causing the regional conflict to acquire elements of a global one. He also said that one of Russia's newest medium-range missile systems, the Oreshnik ballistic missile, had been tested under combat conditions.

Before that, on November 19, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the S-400 SAM and Pantsir SAM systems in the Bryansk region shot down five ATACMS missiles fired by the AFU and damaged another one. The wreckage of the latter fell on the territory of a military facility, without casualties or damage.

The special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
