In Krasnoyarsk Krai the protection of young coniferous trees has been strengthened in connection with the upcoming New Year holidays. Forest inspectors have increased the number of raids in the forests, the press service of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources reported on Thursday, November 28.
Law enforcers have developed patrol routes and established duty schedules. On the highways between settlements on duty officers of the State Automobile Inspectorate and check the documents of all those who transport conifers.
The inspectors reach remote and hard-to-reach places by snowmobiles and bog-mobiles. The situation in the forests is also monitored with the help of drones, which come to the region within the framework of the national project "Unmanned Aviation Systems".
Raids on Christmas tree markets will be held from mid-December. Forest inspectors, in particular, will check the documents authorizing the trade in trees.
As KrasnoyarskMedia IA notes, independent harvesting of conifers for holidays is prohibited in the region. Violators will have to pay a fine of up to 300 thousand rubles with possible imprisonment up to seven years.
Earlier "Izvestia" wrote that to restore the system of cultivation of valuable forests in eight Russian cities are working DNA-laboratories. Scientists conduct genetic analysis of seeds, from which they then try to grow tall and thick-trunked trees.
