Putin named the temperature of the striking elements when using "Nutshell"

With massive use of the newest strike hypersonic missile system "Oreshnik", the power of the strike is comparable to nuclear weapons. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin on November 28.

"Dozens of combat units attack the target at a speed of Mach 10. This is about 3 kilometers per second. The temperature of the striking elements reaches 4 thousand degrees. If my memory serves me correctly, the temperature on the surface of the sun is 5,500-6,000 degrees," he told the CSTO meeting.

Referring to the opinion of technical and military experts, the Russian leader added that in case of a massive strike by the "Oreshnik" the power will be comparable to the use of nuclear weapons. At the same time, the president emphasized that the missile is not a weapon of mass destruction, as it is highly accurate and there is no nuclear charge in it, and therefore no nuclear contamination.

The Russian leader also said that the Oreshnik is capable of hitting even highly defended and deeply located targets. As he noted, everything in the epicenter of the impact of this missile turns into dust.

Putin also added that the serial production of the "Oreshnik" has started at the moment.

On November 21, the Russian president said that Ukraine had used Western long-range weapons against the Russian state, causing the regional conflict to acquire elements of a global one. He also said that one of Russia's newest medium-range missile systems, the Oreshnik ballistic missile, had been tested under combat conditions.

Before that, on November 19, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the S-400 SAM and Pantsir SAM systems in the Bryansk region shot down five ATACMS missiles fired by the AFU and damaged another one. The wreckage of the latter fell on the territory of a military facility, without casualties or damage.
