The Nobel Prize has long been biased against the United States, it is necessary to create an alternative. This was stated on November 28 by Anton Kobyakov, advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin and head of the interdepartmental working group for the preparation and holding of the Congress of Young Scientists and Satellite Events.

According to him, the issue of an alternative to the Nobel Prize is possible within the framework of BRICS.

"Based on the results of the Nobel weeks, one might get the impression that all the world's scientific potential is concentrated in the United States, but this is not the case," Kobyakov said at a briefing within the framework of the IV Congress of Young Scientists.

The Nobel Prize was established in accordance with the will of Swedish inventor and entrepreneur Alfred Nobel and was first awarded in 1901. It is a symbol of scientific and intellectual achievements of mankind.

Earlier, on October 11, the Nobel Peace Prize in 2024 was awarded to the Japanese organization Nihon Hidankyo, which consists of survivors of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and those fighting against these weapons. This mass movement of survivors of the atomic bombing of the two cities, also known as Hibakusha, received the Peace Prize for its efforts to create a world free of nuclear weapons.

A day earlier, the winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature - 2024 was South Korean writer Han Gang "for her intense poetic prose that confronts historical trauma and reveals the fragility of human life."
