Two rabies outbreaks detected in the Sverdlovsk region

Rabies quarantine will be imposed in the Beloyarsk urban district of the Sverdlovsk region due to the discovery of two outbreaks of the disease. Local residents found the corpses of animals.

According to the Ura.ru news agency , a stray dog was found dead in the settlement of Prokhladnoye. Near the village of Gagarskoye citizens saw a dead fox. Laboratory tests showed that the animals fell from rabies.

Veterinarians urge residents of Beloyarsk district to vaccinate pets against rabies. A set of measures will be carried out on the territory to eliminate centers of virus spreading.

At the end of October in the Pskov region a cat scratched the owner and attacked a pet dog. After the incident, the animal died. Laboratory specialists confirmed that the cat had rabies.
