The court rejected the appeal of the chairman of Solntsevsky district court of Moscow Artem Mateta against the termination of his powers. This was reported to "Izvestia" on November 28 in the press service of the Higher Qualification Collegium of Judges (HQCJ).
It is specified that Mateta is accused of fraud on a large scale. He is participating in the meeting via video link from the "Medved" pre-trial detention center.
Earlier, July 1, Chairman of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia Alexander Bastrykin asked the Higher Qualification Collegium of Judges (HQCJ) to authorize the initiation of criminal proceedings against the judge, chairman of Solntsevsky district court of Moscow Mateta, who is suspected of committing crimes under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud on a particularly large scale") and Part 3 of Article 30 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted crime").
According to the version of the investigation, Mateta took about $40 thousand for solving the criminal case, which in reality he was not going to influence. On September 17, VKKS agreed to initiate a criminal case.
