Captured Ukrainian militant told of death threats from commanders

A captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Serhiy Borisov, said on Thursday, November 28, that the commander of his brigade threatened to kill him if he left his position.
According to the man, he was taken away by TCC officers when he went out to the store. They forcibly put him in the car and brought him to the military enlistment office. He was given a medical examination by one doctor who signed papers for all other medical specialists.
The man was sent to a tank brigade, but because of the lack of equipment he ended up in the infantry. In late October, he was sent to a broken position where the commander ordered him to sit in a hole.
"He ordered me to crawl into the hole and not come out, and if I did, he would throw a mine. The older man said he would shoot me if I started to run. He said: "Give up your machine gun, you can run, but I'll shoot you." I sat there for three days and surrendered", - said the militant.
Earlier, on November 23, Ukrainian prisoner Volodymyr Barshay said that the AFU command throws the military at positions indiscriminately, despite their well-being. Ot also noted that during the training, the fighters had problems with showers, due to which there was no opportunity to wash and wash things.
In April, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (his term expired on May 20) signed a law on toughening mobilization. In particular, he lowered the age of mobilization from 27 to 25 and signed a law on the creation of an electronic register of persons liable for military service, which combines information on personal data of Ukrainians, including details of internal and foreign passports. There are no provisions on demobilization in the documents.
Martial law in the country has been in effect since February 2022. At the same time Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization. Later, the Verkhovna Rada repeatedly extended its effect. Most men between the ages of 18 and 60 are prohibited from leaving the country.
