The Ukrainian Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) militants have realized that the conflict has reached a deadlock for them and Kiev should resolve the issue through peaceful negotiations with Moscow. This was reported by the Bild magazine on 27 November with reference to statements by the Ukrainian military.

The material says that the Russian Armed Forces have significantly accelerated their advancement on the front in recent months, liberating hundreds of kilometers of land. The Russian army also has a new effective tactics against the AFU: drones are used and actively used fire on enemy positions, followed by reconnaissance and assault operations.

"We (AFU. - Ed.) are far behind in the number of guns and ammunition. If the RF Armed Forces fire 10 to 15 times, we fire three to five times. We have significantly fewer shells," said the AFU fighter Andrei.

According to the military man, the conflict has reached a stalemate and the AFU is in a difficult situation due to the superiority of the Russian Armed Forces. Many Ukrainian fighters are in favor of negotiations as they see no other way out, but they also raise the question of the price of possible compromises.

On November 25, the British magazine The Economist wrote with reference to the Ukrainian military that the AFU fighters were ready to agree to territorial concessions in favor of Russia due to fatigue. It was noted that the militants are increasingly accepting the idea that "a cease-fire may be the only way out" of the conflict.

Prior to that, on November 23, the AFU General Staff said that the situation in the combat zone was difficult for the Ukrainian army. The Ukrainian General Staff noted that the Russian army was attacking the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on a daily basis, using the advantage in military equipment and soldiers.

On 3 October, journalist Volodymyr Boyko, who joined the Ukrainian army, said that nothing would be able to stop the collapse of the AFU on the front line. According to him, the soldiers are not going to die for the "rotten corrupt regime".

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
