A journalist spoke out about CBS News' refusal to conduct a live interview with Musk

Investigative journalist Catherine Herridge said on Tuesday that CBS News refused to allow her to interview American entrepreneur Ilon Musk live on the social network X (formerly Twitter), which he owns. National Review reported on Nov. 27.
"In the fall of 2023, I offered CBS News an interview with Ilon Musk," she wrote on her X page, adding that the businessman's condition was to broadcast the conversation live on the social network.
According to Herridge, the opportunity for such a conversation was of great importance at the time, but CBS News insisted that instead of broadcasting it live, the journalist pre-recorded and edited the conversation.
The broadcaster's actions embarrassed Herridge, and she, knowing Musk's commitment to free speech, never contacted the entrepreneur to explain the situation to him.
In April, Musk expressed his intention to fund a national signature-gathering campaign in defense of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees free speech. He is also convinced that the Democratic Party intends to deprive Americans of freedom of speech, the right to choose and democracy itself.
