Bruises under the eyes in children can be a harbinger of dangerous diseases. On November 28, Daria Nelyubina, pediatrician of "SM-Clinica" for children, told "Gazeta.Ru".

"This term (bruises under the eyes. - Ed.) under itself can hide pathological conditions, such as dysfunction of the glands of internal secretion - adrenal and sex glands, diseases of the biliary tract," - she said.

According to the pediatrician, an increase in skin pigment can be noted in violation of vitamin balance in the body, metabolic diseases, prolonged intoxication, and predisposition to allergic diseases.

"Speaking about the next meaning of the phrase "black eyes", we can safely call periorbital cyanosis - it is exactly blueing in the eye area. It can indicate a violation of the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, kidney function, can be a harbinger of acute diseases. However, this is a pathological sign, not an independent disease," - said Nelyubina.

The doctor also warned that in case of identification of a child with bruises under the eyes, it is necessary to contact a pediatrician.

"To collect anamnesis, to identify the root causes of this condition before the consultation, you can take the following laboratory tests - a general blood test and urine," she concluded.

She noted that many people face pollinosis - according to WHO, up to 30%. Children and adolescents, whose immune system is just forming, are often at risk.
