Chkalov's great-granddaughter was prosecuted for justifying terrorism


Daria Bogdanova, great-granddaughter of Soviet pilot Valery Chkalov (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent, included in the list of terrorists and extremists), was criminally prosecuted after her interview with journalist Oleg Kashin (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent), according to the case materials published on November 28.
One of the documents reports that Bogdanova publicly justified terrorism on the Internet.
"Realizing her criminal intent, Bogdanova D.A. no later than January 30, 2024, being outside the Russian Federation, gave an interview to Kashin O.V., during which she made public statements containing a set of linguistic and psychological signs of justification of the practice of violent influence on the institutions of federal power," the document reads.
It also says that the purpose of the statements of Chkalov's granddaughter was to change the current government in Russia.
Earlier, November 27, the great-granddaughter of pilot Chkalov left abroad after accusations of calling for terrorism. Bogdanova is wanted and charged under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls for terrorist activity, public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism"), provides for up to seven years in prison.
On November 1, Moscow court arrested Daria Bogdanova in absentia and chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention under paragraph 1 part 2 of Art. 29 of the Criminal Procedural Code of the Russian Federation and paragraph 1 part 2 of Art. 29 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation. 2, Part 2, Article 29 of the RF CCP and Article 108 of the RF CCP. In April, a criminal case was opened against Bogdanova for calls to terrorism. Later, on May 13, the Russian Interior Ministry declared her wanted under criminal article. Then, on July 13, the blogger was added to the list of foreign agents.
