Pope Francis said that his teachings at the weekly general audience at the Vatican will be translated into Mandarin from December. Reuters reported on Nov. 27.

"Next week with the beginning of Advent (the Christmas season. - Ed.) Chinese translation will also be here in the audience," he said, probably referring to Mandarin, the official language of China.

At audiences held every Wednesday, the pontiff speaks in Italian and his homilies are translated and read out in English, French, German, Polish, Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic.

In September, it was reported that Indonesia's elite anti-terrorism unit Densus-88 arrested seven people for spreading online threats against Pope Francis during his visit to the capital Jakarta. Threats were spread in social networks, their authors shared plans to commit a terrorist act against the pontiff. It is noted that about 87 thousand Catholics attended the mass of Pope Francis in the Indonesian capital on September 5.
