Not a single natural fire has been recorded in Moscow in 2024. This was reported on Wednesday, November 27, by Deputy Mayor of the capital on housing and public utilities and improvement Petr Biryukov.
According to him, this year, as well as last year, no natural fires were recorded on the territory of the capital due to timely preventive measures. The number of dry grass fires has decreased by 56%. From May to August emergency services promptly liquidated only 11 dry grass fires, notes the agency of city news "Moscow".
Biryukov noted that park, forest and specially protected natural territories in spring and summer were under round-the-clock control of the capital's fire and rescue garrison, RT writes. Specialists conducted their intensified patrols to prevent possible fires. From the air, the fire situation in the capital and neighboring regions was controlled by helicopters of the Moscow Aviation Center and crews of the Volga-Dnepr company, according to the kp.ru website.
