Tankers of the Vostok group of troops have seized an American M113 armored personnel carrier, which was abandoned by a crew of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the front line. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on November 28.

It is specified that during one of the joint offensives of tankers from Buryatia and Transbaikalia the latter managed to capture an American M113 APC. The foreign armored personnel carrier's gearbox broke down right at the firing position. The crew from Transbaikalia scared the AFU repair team with their shots and calmly took the equipment.

"We fired a few shots near it so as not to damage the vehicle. They scattered, we jumped up, hooked it, and safely - it's true, the artillery worked them - we pulled it out. So, there is nothing special about it. Our equipment is better," said the commander of the tank company with the call sign Chita.

During the evacuation of the trophy, the AFU constantly hunted for the tank crew. The vehicle was met by artillery, FPV drones and even chased by "Baba Yaga".

Earlier, on November 15, fighters of the group of troops "Center" evacuated a tank of the AFU from the Krasnoarmeyskiy direction. The defense ministry said that the tankers first conducted an engineering reconnaissance of the evacuation area and the route of access to the tank in order to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment used. After the work was done, they towed the equipment to a safe area where it was inspected by specialists.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
