A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck the island of Luzon in the Philippines

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 occurred on the island of Luzon to the south-east of Batitang in the Philippines. This was reported on November 27 by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

According to the research organization, the origin of the earthquake lay at a depth of 182 km and was located about 120 km from the capital of the Philippines Manila.

The threat of a tsunami was not announced, there were no reports of destruction.

Earlier, on November 26, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 occurred off the coast of Ishikawa prefecture in Japan. Underground tremors with the origin at a depth of 10 km were recorded at 22:47 local time (16:47 Moscow time).

On November 21 an earthquake with magnitude 5.6 was registered in the South Pacific Ocean near the coast of Samoa. The origin of the earthquake was located at the depth of 200 km, 350 km from the capital of Samoa, the city of Alia.
