The Netherlands has decided to join the French initiative to develop long-range missiles. This was announced by the Dutch Defense Ministry Ruben Brekelmans on November 27.

"European countries need long-range missiles. Therefore, in Paris, I announced that the Netherlands wants to participate in the French initiative to develop them," - wrote the Minister in the social network X.

Earlier, on November 27, it became known that France is interested in creating a ballistic missile with a range of more than 1 thousand kilometers after the tests of "Nuttall". Such a decision was taken due to the fact that in recent months Russia, Iran and Israel have shown high efficiency of such weapons.

On the same day, the president of the National Research Center (NRC) "Kurchatov Institute" Mikhail Kovalchuk told Izvestia that the successful creation of the Russian ballistic missile Oreshnik paved the way for developments that in the future could be operated at even higher temperatures.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Nov. 21 that one of Russia's newest medium-range missile systems, the Oreshnik ballistic missile, had been tested under combat conditions in Ukraine in response to escalation by Western countries. The next day, the head of state specified that Russia would continue testing the Oreshnik, and that the decision on the serial production of these missiles had already been made. In addition, several other weapons of this kind are currently under development.
