- Reuters reported on a new $725 million aid package to Kiev from the Biden administration

The administration of incumbent US President Joe Biden is developing a new $725m aid package for Ukraine, under which it plans to provide various anti-tank weapons from the US stockpile. This was reported by Reuters on Thursday, November 28.
According to an official familiar with the plan, the Biden administration plans to provide various anti-tank weapons from US stockpiles. The package could include landmines, drones, Stinger missiles, ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) and others.
The United States expects Ukraine to use the mines on its territory, although it has pledged not to use them in areas populated by its own civilian population.
Earlier in the day, the WSJ reported on Biden's failure to spend all the funds allocated to Kiev. According to US and congressional officials, the Biden administration did not have enough time left to use the billions of dollars allocated by lawmakers to arm Ukraine, leaving President-elect Donald Trump to decide what to do with the remaining money.
On the eve it became known that Joe Biden asked Congress to allocate $24 billion to Ukraine to strengthen its military capabilities and replenish America's dwindling reserves.
Meanwhile, on November 14, Pentagon press secretary Sabrina Singh said that the USA intended to supply Ukraine with all the weapons promised by Biden before he leaves office.
On November 13, White House adviser Jake Sullivan said that Biden would ask Congress for additional funds to support Ukraine before leaving office.
Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine amid Russia's special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022. The decision to conduct it was made by the Russian president because of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to the increased shelling by Ukrainian troops.
