A military plane performing a training flight crashed into a roadway in Ecuador's southwestern province of Santa Elena. This was reported by the Daily Mail newspaper on November 27.
"As a result, two soldiers on board were killed," the newspaper informed.
An eyewitness said that he was walking in a park when he noticed the plane turning around in the sky and looking for a place to land.
It is learnt that the downed Diamond DA20-C1 two-seater aircraft crashed into an SUV and nearly hit a motorcyclist riding behind the vehicle, while the right wing of the aircraft hit a second motorcyclist.
The accident killed Ecuadorian Air Force cadet Juan Pacheco and Ecuadorian Air Force Captain Diana Ruiz, who in March 2013 became the first female pilot of the military's Cheetah, a supersonic aircraft.
Earlier, on Nov. 26, a Cessna 206 light-engine plane crashed in Costa Rica near the capital San Jose. There were six people on board.
