Shalom Nagar, who executed Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann, died in Israel at the 87th year of life. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post on November 27.

Eichmann was one of the key figures responsible for the "final solution" to the Holocaust. He was responsible for the logistics and transportation of deported Jews to the death camps. In 1960, Eichmann was captured by Israeli intelligence agency Mossad in Argentina, where he was living under the name Ricardo Clement.

"When I stand before you, the judges of Israel, to lead the prosecution of Adolf Eichmann, I do not stand alone. With me are 6 million prosecutors," Attorney General Gideon Hausner said at the start of Eichmann's trial.

The judgment, which began in 1961 in Jerusalem, sentenced the perpetrator to death.

Shalom Nagar, who worked as a prison guard, executed Eichmann in prison in 1962. The criminal's ashes were scattered over the sea. The execution of the Nazi was the only time an Israeli court had imposed the death penalty.

The identity of Eichmann's executioner had been classified until then.
