The desire of US President Joe Biden, who will soon leave office, to give Ukraine the necessary funds to continue active combat operations in 2025 demonstrates the "thieving instincts" of the current US administration. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on November 27.

"To take all the commonwealth for themselves, so that no one else gets it, except Ukraine," the Minister said on air of the TV channel "Zvezda".

The presidential administration under Biden has been actively providing Kiev with financial and military support. In total, the U.S. has sent Ukraine more than $59 billion in aid.

"Gazeta.Ru" with reference to The Wall Street Journal reports that Biden will not have time to use the remaining funds at his disposal to send them to Kiev before his departure.

The publication noted that President-elect Donald Trump will have to decide what to do with the remaining amount of $6.5 billion.

Earlier on November 27, it became known about Biden's plan to allocate another $24 billion to help Ukraine to strengthen its military potential and replenish America's empty warehouses. It is known that he plans to allocate $24bn to the US stockpiles, while the remaining $8bn will be sent to Kiev.

On the same day it became known that Italy started preparing a new package of military aid to Kiev.

Before that, on 25 November, the Italian Foreign Ministry said that it had decided not to send military personnel to Ukraine. According to Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, Italy will not send any military personnel to Ukraine.

On that day, Le Monde reported about the renewed discussions in Europe about sending troops to Ukraine. According to the newspaper, these discussions have even "strengthened" in recent weeks, particularly thanks to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's visit to France on Nov. 11.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine amid Russia's special operation to defend Donbas, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
