Russia will definitely give the most decisive and mirror-like response to each of the escalation rounds that may be followed by unfriendly Western states. This was stated by Russia's First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky at the Security Council (SC) meeting on Ukraine on November 27.

"What can we tell you? Wait for it. Every round of escalation on the part of Western countries will be followed by a decisive and mirrored response. I will say it bluntly: we consider ourselves entitled to use our weapons against the military facilities of those countries that allow the use of their weapons against our facilities," Polyansky's Telegram channel of the Russian Permanent Mission to the international organization quoted Polyansky as saying.

The diplomat also asked to take into account that there is no counter to Russia's most advanced hypersonic weapons in the world today. According to him, US anti-missile systems (ABM) in Europe will not be able to intercept them.

"We warned you about this, however, you have made your choice," Polyansky added.

Earlier in the day, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov urged the administration of incumbent United States President Joe Biden to stop the escalation around Ukraine, pointing out that it would be difficult to end the confrontation otherwise.

On 24 November, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius pointed to Russia's superiority over the EU in the production of shells. According to him, the Russian defense industry produces as many shells in three months as all EU countries do in a year.

Earlier, on November 22, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov pointed to the desire of the outgoing administration of US President Joe Biden to escalate the conflict in Ukraine.

Prior to that, on Nov. 21, Putin reported that Ukraine had used Western long-range weapons against Russia, causing the regional conflict to acquire elements of a global conflict. He also said that one of Russia's newest medium-range missile systems, the Oreshnik ballistic missile, had been tested under combat conditions.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine amid Russia's special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022. The decision to carry it out was taken by Russia due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to the increased shelling by Ukrainian troops.
