Three Ukrainian UAVs shot down over Belgorod and Kursk regions

The Russian Air Defense Forces have foiled attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to attack cities in Belgorod and Kursk regions using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the airplane type. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 27.

According to the ministry, the air defense forces shot down two Ukrainian UAVs over the territory of Belgorod Region and one over the territory of Kursk Region.

Earlier in the day, three Ukrainian drones attacked Belgorod and Shebekino. Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said that, according to preliminary information, there were no casualties.

On November 27, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova promised punishment to Kiev for its continued attacks on Russian territories. According to her, over the past week, the air defense and electronic warfare forces destroyed more than 220 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the Russian territory. In addition, the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman emphasized that attacks were carried out on Belgorod Region, Gorlovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR), and Kherson Region.

The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was made due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
