Kremlin positively assesses ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on November 27 that Russia has a positive attitude toward the Israeli-Lebanese ceasefire agreement.
"Moscow has a positive attitude. A ceasefire is always important," he told reporters.
According to Peskov, it is important now that "the implementation of the agreement is in line with the agreements." He also pointed to the importance of placing Lebanese armed forces in their prescribed regions so that the Israeli army can begin a gradual withdrawal.
The start of the indefinite ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel was announced the day before by current US President Joe Biden. According to him, Israel will gradually withdraw its troops from the neighboring country within 60 days starting November 27. After that, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a telephone conversation thanked Biden for his help in concluding a ceasefire agreement in Lebanon.
The escalation of hostilities between Israel and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah came after the events of September 17 and 18, when thousands of people, including employees of the movement, were injured when pagers and other communication devices exploded in Lebanon. The country blamed Tel Aviv for what happened. Since then, Israel has continued to eliminate the leadership of the Shiite movement and strike Lebanese territory.
The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian radical movement Hamas subjected Israeli territory to a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
