Putin and Tokayev say mutual support against undermining stability will continue

Russia and Kazakhstan will support each other, oppose the undermining of stability and violation of territorial integrity. This is stated in the joint statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakh leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on deepening strategic partnership in the new global order, which the two heads of state signed on November 27.
"The heads of state noted that the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan will continue to support each other, opposing attempts to undermine domestic political stability, violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Russia and Kazakhstan," the statement, which was published on the Kremlin' s website, said.
The two presidents consider the technological, historical and research significance of the Baikonur Cosmodrome to be unique, and its 70th anniversary will be widely celebrated in 2025. This complex, according to the heads of state, is a universal human treasure. Russia and Kazakhstan will continue joint work on space exploration, experimental research and development of telecommunication technologies.
The parties agreed to exchange operational and other information on special services in order to prevent terrorism and uncompromising fight against it. Moscow and Astana will also closely cooperate in this area within the framework of international organizations, such as the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Earlier in the day, Putin arrived in Kazakhstan for a two-day visit, and Tokayev met him at the airport. At the meeting, the presidents discussed the development of bilateral relations, and the Kazakh leader noted that Astana has been and remains a reliable strategic partner and ally of Moscow.
During the talks, the Russian president noted the dynamic development of relations between Russia and Kazakhstan, which have both friendly and business character. The head of state added that Russia has invested $13 billion in Kazakhstan's economy. At a joint press conference with his Kazakh counterpart, Putin said that the creation of three new thermal power plants is on the agenda of Russian-Kazakh relations.
On the same day, the two leaders attended a painting by Kazakh artist Asel Sabyrzhankyzy. The painting depicts a bridge of friendship between Russia and Kazakhstan.
