Elena, a tourist from the ship that sank in the waters of the Barents Sea, told "Izvestia" on November 27 about waves 2 meters high.

"Initially everything was fine as soon as we went out to sea. And then we rode for an hour, as soon as we left the bay, the waves intensified, the wind increased, the waves there probably reached two meters," - shared the passenger of the ship.

According to her, the weather made everyone nauseous and it was decided to turn around before reaching the whales' habitat. But the ship began to lurch, because of which the water began to penetrate the board, Elena said.

She noted that everyone tried to leave the ship as soon as possible, but this was prevented by various difficulties, for example, the door did not open. However, all passengers got out.

Someone as a result of the accident lost documents, phone and other things, "but so nothing serious," concluded the girl.

Earlier in the day, the North-West Transport Prosecutor's Office reported that a pleasure boat with tourists on board overturned in the waters of the Barents Sea in the Murmansk region. It is specified that the incident occurred in the village of Teriberka. According to the source of "Izvestia", there were 11 tourists on board the ship "Boets".

Then the source of "Izvestia" said that the cause of the roll, due to which the ship "Boets" began to sink near the village of Teriberka in the Barents Sea, could be a high wave. The captain is being questioned.

A criminal case was initiated on this fact. The prosecutor's office is checking compliance with the rules of safe operation of water transport, establishing the circumstances and causes of the accident.
