Vitaly Kushnarev, Deputy Governor of Rostov region, Minister of Transport of the region, has been arrested for two months. The decision was made by Kirovsky district court of Rostov-on-Don on Wednesday, November 27.

The official will stay in custody until January 24, 2025.

Earlier, on November 25, it became known that Kushnarev, as well as the deputy transport minister of the region Dmitry Mamelko were detained, according to the source of "Izvestia", during the transfer of funds. Mamelko was later released, the source added.

The official took the post of Deputy Governor and Minister of Transportation of the region in June this year. Before that, he was a deputy of the State Duma from 2021 to 2024 and headed the Ministry of transport of the Rostov region from 2014 to 2016.
