Putin and Tokayev sign statement on deepening strategic partnership


Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakh leader Kasym-Jomart Tokayev on Wednesday, November 27, signed a joint statement on deepening strategic partnership in the new global order in Astana.
The signing followed talks between the two presidents.
Earlier in the day, Putin arrived in Kazakhstan on a two-day visit, Tokayev met him at the airport. At the meeting, the presidents discussed the development of bilateral relations, and the Kazakh leader noted that Astana has been and remains a reliable strategic partner and ally of Moscow.
During the talks between the delegations, the Russian president noted that Moscow and Astana are both friends and maintain business relations, and the interaction between the two states is developing in the most dynamic way. The head of state said that the Russian Federation has invested $13 billion in the economy of Kazakhstan, and following this visit, the parties will sign a number of agreements in various areas.
In addition, Putin and Tokayev participated in the creation of a painting by artist Asel Sabyrzhankyzy. The painting depicts a bridge of friendship between Russia and Kazakhstan.
