A man has been detained in the Stavropol region in a 17-year-old murder case

In the town of Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol region, a man has been detained in a murder case committed in 2007. This was reported by a source of "Izvestiya" on Wednesday, November 27.

According to the interlocutor, the murder took place on the bank of the Kuban River. There two men were drinking alcoholic beverages, a quarrel broke out between them, which turned into a fight.

The detainee, who at the time of his capture was 49 years old, hit his opponent on the head with a stick, after which he lost consciousness. The killer was unable to bring his acquaintance to his senses and threw his body into the water. The man pleaded guilty.

Earlier in the day, investigators of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation in Primorsky Krai charged two men with murder committed 28 years ago. According to the investigation, in the fall of 1996, the defendants decided to illegally obtain monetary compensation from the victim for causing bodily harm to one of them. Having received a refusal to pay the money, the accused, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, committed the murder of their acquaintance. After committing the crime, the body was taken out of the apartment and hidden not far from the place of the crime.
