- Experts gave advice on how to protect yourself from online fraudsters during the sale period

In order not to fall for the tricks of fraudsters on the Internet during the sale period, it is worth following a few recommendations. Experts told Izvestia how you can protect yourself from Internet scammers.
"Before clicking on a link or downloading a file, make sure they are safe with anti-virus software," said Igor Bederov, director of Internet Search.
In addition, he recommended using a separate account with limited access for financial transactions on the Internet. According to him, in the settings of the banking application should be set a ban on payment without a confirmation code or via SMS. The expert also advised to use separate plastic cards or virtual cards with a limited balance for online payments.
"Before visiting dubious sites, study their registration data through the WHOIS service. Note that for the safety of Russians' personal data, the site must be physically located on the territory of the Russian Federation. Also pay attention to the period of existence of the site. It should not be several months," Bederov said.
You can protect yourself from fraud by prohibiting reissuance and other manipulations with SIM-card without the personal presence of its owner. The expert recommended choosing a code word to communicate with the service provider, similar to the way it is used in banks.
"Use complex passwords for your accounts, but do not store them in your browser. Password managers are recommended to store passwords securely. Run an anti-virus scan on suspicious links and files before entering your password. To protect your accounts, be sure to install a two-factor authentication system, as well as an additional cloud password to log in to the service," Bederov added.
In turn, business development manager at Pacific Studio Nikita Smetskoy advised to check the seller: it is necessary to make sure that the site or store where the purchase is made is reliable. It is worth checking reviews, ratings and contact information.
"Don't trust prices that are too low: if the price seems too low, it could be a sign of fraud. Compare prices for similar products from other sellers," the expert emphasized.
He also recommended avoiding the use of unreliable payment systems or transferring data through unsafe sites.
"Do not provide personal data: never give your personal data, such as credit card number, passport details or security codes, to strangers or dubious sites," Smetskoi emphasized.
The manager advised to be more careful with delivery: you should make sure that delivery is made through trusted services. There is no need to agree to prepay for delivery if there is no confidence in the reliability of the seller, concluded the specialist.
Earlier, on November 8, in the Post Bank said that during the sales are activated fraudsters. As specified in the credit organization, attackers, offering the most profitable offers, transfer users of the network to third-party sites. As a result, buyers can be left not only without money and goods, but also with loans.
