New Chinese cars occupy 68% of the Russian market. This was announced during the III Federal Dealer Conference "Higher Transmission" held in Moscow on November 26.
At the event, experts analyzed trends in the car market and studied supply and demand in the segment of dealer cars. They came to the conclusion that Chinese brands are strengthening their positions in the Russian market of new cars, and their share in the interest of buyers is growing.
According to Artem Sokolov, head of the analytics team of Avito Auto's commercial unit, the Russian car market has shown a strong positive trend over the past year. Especially noticeable was the activity in the segment of new cars of Chinese manufacturers and their dealers, as a result of which the share of supply of models from the Celestial Empire has stabilized at the level of 68%. At the same time, the share of Russian cars is 22%.
"In the segment of used cars, the offer on the Avito Auto site increased by 35% compared to October of the previous year. The share of offers from dealers in this segment amounted to 22%. The continued availability of used cars at dealers shows that they are becoming more customer-oriented", - commented Artem Sokolov.
Anton Voronov, Avito Auto's director of car dealer segment development, noted that the platform now receives more than 36.6 million users per month, more than 1 million cars are posted simultaneously and 28 thousand transactions are concluded daily.
"Our performance indicates, among other things, the growth of activity among automakers and dealers seeking to expand their presence in the market. Therefore, our goals for 2024 are to support dealers by providing them with business solutions to improve their efficiency in the digital space, as well as to help users solve car buying and selling tasks faster and more conveniently," commented Anton Voronov.
