In Dagestan, two suspects were detained for preparing a terrorist attack in a state institution

Two residents of Dagestan are suspected of preparing a terrorist act in one of the state institutions of the republic. This was reported on November 27 in the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the IC for the region.

"Two residents of the Republic are suspected of committing crimes of terrorist orientation", - stated in the message of the Department in Telegram-channel.

According to the IC, in 2023-2024, two residents of the republic of Dagestan conspired to commit a terrorist attack in one of the state institutions of the region in order to destabilize the activities of the authorities. They were trained to acquire the knowledge, skills to make explosive devices, which are necessary to carry out terrorist activities.

In July 2024, the suspects were in the village of Kurush in the Khasavyurtovsky district of the republic. They took measures for the illegal manufacture of explosives, for which they purchased parts, but they did not complete their intention, as they were detained by law enforcement officers.

The criminal case against them was initiated under Art. 205.3 ("Training for the purpose of terrorist activity"), part 1 of Art. 30, paragraph "a" of part 2 of Art. 205 ("Preparing to commit a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy"), and part 1 of Art. 30, part 2 of Art. 223.1 ("Preparation for the illegal manufacture of explosives and devices") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

According to the agency, in the near future the issue of choosing a measure of restraint will be considered in respect of the suspects. At the moment, actions aimed at consolidating the evidence base are being carried out.

Earlier, on November 22, a resident of the Chelyabinsk region was detained for public calls to terrorism and extremism. It is established that the suspect is a supporter of radical views. In comments on the Internet he called for terrorist activities and illegal actions against law enforcement officers. A criminal case has been opened.
