Bovine leukosis outbreaks identified in Ussuriysk

Bovine leukosis has been detected in the territory of Ussuriysk Urban District (Primorsky Krai). Sick animals will be sent for slaughter.

The infection was detected in the villages of Stepnoye, Novonikolsk, Zarechnoye and Vozdvizhenka. Studies were conducted by employees of Artemovsk veterinary station, writes IA UssurMedia. Earlier foci were detected in the villages of Rakovka and Utesnoye.

Leukosis is an incurable infectious disease. Visually it is manifested by tumor formations and enlargement of lymph nodes. In addition, the milk production of cattle decreases, animals lose wool and become thin. There is no vaccine against the disease.

In October in Kamchatka Krai, a state of emergency was introduced due to an outbreak of avian influenza. The outbreak was at the Pionerskaya poultry farm.
