On November 27, the National Center "Russia" in Moscow hosted an in-person meeting of the Honorary Jury of the educational award "Znanie. Award" - the flagship project of the Russian Society "Znanie". Prominent state and public figures evaluated the projects of 110 nominees from 30 regions of Russia and three foreign countries. The 31 laureates will be announced at the award ceremony in February 2025.
The meeting of the Honorary Jury was traditionally opened by the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergey Kiriyenko. In his welcoming remarks, he noted the growing interest in the educational award.
"In the fourth season of the Award the number of applications increased six times - up to 19.5 thousand. The number of countries has doubled, there are 56 of them; all continents, except Australia and Antarctica, are represented among the participants. There are very serious candidates: governors, State Duma deputies, senators, outstanding scientists and cultural figures of international renown," said Sergey Kiriyenko.
Sergey Kirienko expressed his gratitude to the National Center "Russia" created by the decision of the President of the Russian Federation for the fact that the work of the Honorary Jury takes place on this platform, and invited all nominees to cooperate with it. "The Center was created to show everything that our country is proud of. And every person who will go on this stage and every project is also something to be proud of."
After the Honorary Jury meeting, Russian residents can cast their votes - the winners of the People's Choice nomination will be determined in the course of online voting, which will be traditionally held through a mini-application in the VKontakte social network from November 28 to January 15. Users will be able to vote for their favorite nominees in a special mini-application "Enlightenment Prize "Znanie".
