The Theater of Nations appreciated the idea of selling personalized tickets to performances in Moscow

The problem of buying theater tickets for popular plays and concerts has existed in Moscow for a long time and is acute, Yevgeny Mironov, People's Artist of Russia and head of the Theater of Nations, told Izvestia on November 27.

He emphasized that resellers deprive ordinary viewers of the opportunity to buy tickets at face value for popular performances, forcing them to significantly overpay.

"How to eradicate this phenomenon? There is still no unambiguous answer, but the Moscow government's desire to look for new ways to solve it is respected. I hope that a broad discussion of the pilot project on the sale of personalized tickets with the involvement of professionals and the study of the audience's opinion will give a new turn in the fight against overpurchasers," concluded Mironov.

Earlier on November 21, the official portal of the mayor and the government of Moscow reported that the Moscow Department of Culture introduced new rules for ticket sales, which will affect its subordinate theaters and concert halls. From March 15, 2025, to buy tickets for events with seating will be required to indicate the details of the document that can be used to confirm identity when attending. The changes will take place within the framework of the pilot project, which will last until the end of 2025.

November 22 it became known that the deputies appealed to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with a request to consider the possibility of establishing a unified system of pricing in state theaters, including limiting the growth of ticket prices to the level of annual inflation. The corresponding letter was sent to the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation by Yana Lantratova and Sergey Mironov. .
