"Robomobile" Geely and Baidu will appear in Russia

Electric crossover Jiyue Robocar 01, developed by Geely and Baidu, will enter the Russian market. The car will be adapted for Russian buyers, in particular, a localized interface of the multimedia system, reports Motor.ru on November 27.

Sell such cars in Russia will be sold under the brand Jidu, so the joint venture in China was called before renaming in 2023. According to the publication, Robocar 01 will receive the Vehicle Type Approval (VTA), which allows to start mass sales of the model in Russia. Who exactly will handle the supply and sales of electric cars is not specified.

The electric car will enter the market in the top modification with a dual-motor powertrain with an output of 544 hp, as in the Zeekr 001. The battery capacity is 71.4 or 100 kWh, and the range on a single charge - from 550 to 720 km. The equipment list also includes a multimedia system with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip and a 6K-display with a diagonal of 35.6 inches. Also announced for the crossover is an autopilot on the Baidu Apollo platform with two Nvidia Orin X chips and 31 sensors.

On November 20, it was reported that in December in Russia will start selling cars of the Chinese brand Lynk & Co. Two models will enter the market - hybrid crossover 08 and electric sedan Z10. Later it became known that Lynk & Co. cars may receive Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) in the Russian Federation.
