For vacation it is best to consider the months with the most working days, so in 2025 April, July, September, October and December will be profitable for vacation. This was told to "Izvestia" on November 29 by the experts of the platform "Avito Work".

They specified that when planning a vacation specialists working on a 5/2 schedule should take into account several important nuances. First, the fact that the employer has the right to adjust the vacation days of employees, if their absence on the selected dates will interfere with the productivity of the organization. Secondly, it should be remembered that vacation pay is not equal to salary, and the cost of a working day changes during the month. The more holidays and weekends, the higher the cost per working day. Therefore, it is possible that the cost of one working day will significantly exceed the cost of vacation pay, experts stressed.

"Calculating vacation payments, accountants multiply the average daily salary of the employee for the last 12 months by the days of rest. Therefore, for vacation, it is best to consider the months with the most working days. This year, there were only three (July, August and October) - fortunately, next year provides more favorable options to choose from. In 2025, these will be April (22 days), July (23 days), September (22 days), October (23 days) and December (22 days)," the analysts said.

So, for example, if an employee receives 80 thousand rubles per month after deduction of taxes, then in the design of a two-week vacation from October 1 to October 14, 2025 vacation pay will be about 38,220 rubles, and salary - 45,218 rubles. In this case, the total amount of payments for the month will be 83,438 rubles - this is 3,438 rubles more than the salary. At the same time, if the dates of vacation include weekends, the amount of payments increases.

If you take a two-week vacation in a month where there are only 20 working days, vacation pay will be about 38,220 rubles, the salary for this month - 40,000 rubles, and the total amount - 78,220 rubles. It will turn out that the employee will "underpay" about 1,780 rubles. The total amount of payments will similarly be less if you draw up a vacation in January (17 working days), May (18 days), June (19 days) and November (19 days), experts clarified.

"The fewer working days in the month, the more money will be deducted from the salary. And if you take a vacation in a month with 21 working days, the amount of payments will be approximately equal to the regular salary," they added.

In addition, in 2025 there are holidays, joining a few days of vacation to which you can go on a long vacation. So, if you take vacation on January 9 and 10, you will get 15 days of full rest from December 29 to January 12. You can also rest 11 days from May 1 to May 11, if you take a vacation from May 5 to May 7, and 7 days from June 9 to June 15, if you take the weekend of June 9, 10 and 11. Another eight consecutive days from November 2 through November 7 can be taken if you take November 5, 6, and 7 off. In such situations, you can take time off - so next year you can rest even more.

Employees in Russia can get time off for overtime work, as well as for work on holidays and weekends, if you do not take compensation for these days in cash equivalent.

"To earn one full day off, you have to work one holiday or weekend, or accumulate overtime hours. With a regularized work schedule, two hours of overtime can be compensated in the form of at least two hours of time off. This means that overtime work of two hours for four days will be equivalent to one day off," the experts explained.

In addition, a day off can also be granted for medical reasons. For example, an employee under the age of 40 can take one day off for a medical examination once every three years, and over 40 - once a year. An additional day off, in agreement with the employer, is entitled and blood donors, recalled in "Avito Work".
