Belarusian border guards detained two men with drones in Voronovsky district

Belarusian border guards in Voronovski district detained two citizens of the country, who were found in possession of drones. This was reported in the Telegram-channel of the State Border Committee of Belarus on November 27.
The locals were detained the day before by servicemen of the Lida Border Guard Unit in the area of the village of Voronovo, which is near the border with Lithuania. The force support was provided by OMON.
One of the men was found at home with a multirotor drone with a remote control and batteries. The second man kept the drone with the remote control in a garage cooperative in Lida.
The technique with components was seized for further proceedings, and the detainees were initiated an administrative process for violation of the border regime.
The CPC reminded that since April 1, import, storage, circulation, operation, manufacture and use of drones without authorization are prohibited in Belarus by presidential decree. In addition, the illegal maintenance and use of UAVs in the border zone entails administrative responsibility.
Earlier, November 11, a citizen of Ukraine, who tried to transport drugs from Poland in a pack of cigarettes, was detained in Belarus at the checkpoint Brest. In addition, his test for drug intoxication showed a positive result. The man was placed in a temporary detention center and criminal cases were opened against him for illegal border crossing and drug trafficking.
