Tourist tax will be introduced in Yakutsk

A tourist tax will be introduced in Yakutsk. The corresponding decision was supported by the deputies of the City Duma.
According to YakutiaMedia IA, the tax will be levied on visiting citizens, except for residents of Yakutia. The amount of tax will amount to 1% of the services rendered by the hotel, but not less than 100 rubles per day.
Funds from the tourist tax will go to the city budget. The authorities will allocate them for the improvement and development of infrastructure and amenities.
The decision to introduce tourist tax has already been adopted in a number of Russian cities, including Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Arkhangelsk, Perm, Petrozavodsk, Kazan. Regions set the amount of the tax on their own. In St. Petersburg, the tourist tax will replace the resort tax, which brought 640 million rubles to the city.
