Chery announced the introduction of VK services in cars

The new Chery Tiggo 9 crossover, which will become the flagship model of the brand in Russia, will receive VK services and will be one of the first models with such functions on the Russian car market. This is stated in the message of the Chinese automaker, which was received by Izvestia on November 27.

Thus, the Tiggo 9's multimedia system will provide access to various online services, including "VK Music", "VK Video", "VK News" and "VK Messenger". In the future, services from this ecosystem are planned to be introduced in other Chery models.

The company also said that the new crossover, regardless of configuration, will be equipped with a telematics system and online navigation, implemented with the help of NaviKit SDK technology from the API "Yandex Maps", underlying applications "Yandex Maps" and "Yandex Navigator".

For connection to the Internet and its work on board the car is responsible for the SIM-chip installed in the standard telecommunications module of the Tiggo 9, which supports formats 2G, 3G and 4G/LTE. It is claimed that the chip is adapted to Russian climatic and road conditions: it is resistant to vibrations and is able to work in a wide range of temperatures (from -40 to +105 °C).

It first became known in early November that VK is negotiating with automakers to pre-install its media services in multimedia systems. The company expects that its services will be pre-installed in every tenth Chinese car sold through authorized dealers by the end of next year.

The operating system for multimedia systems is also being developed by Open Mobile Platform (a subsidiary of Rostelecom), and the Aurora OS is planned to be implemented in AvtoVAZ cars. Now the domestic automaker offers cars with multimedia system Lada EnjoY Pro, which integrates the services of "Yandex" and voice assistant "Alice".

Chery unveiled the new Tiggo 9 crossover on November 14. It will be the largest model in the Russian lineup. The length of the car is 4810 mm with a wheelbase of 2800 mm. For comparison: the length of the Tiggo 8 is 4720 mm, and the Tiggo 7 - 4500 mm. The crossover is built on a new platform T2X, equipped with a turbocharged two-liter engine with an output of 249 hp (375 Nm) paired with an eight-speed automatic, as well as the Torque-on-Demand all-wheel drive system with an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch.
