The Russian Armed Forces have liberated the village of Novaya Ilyinka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 27.

"The units of the troops grouping "Center" as a result of successful actions liberated the settlement of Novaya Ilyinka in the Donetsk People's Republic," the ministry said in a statement.

In addition, Center troops defeated personnel and equipment of three brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the vicinity of the settlements of Dzerzhinsk, Shcherbinovka, Leonidovka and Dimitrov in the DNR. In addition, the military groups repelled 10 counterattacks against eight Ukrainian army brigades and battalions, including the Lyut brigade of the national police.

In the area of responsibility of the group "Center" AFU lost up to 415 military personnel, D-20 gun of 152 mm caliber, 122-millimeter howitzer D-30 and seven vehicles during the day.

Earlier in the day, the ministry published footage of the Terminator tank support combat vehicle (TSCV) operating in combat conditions as part of the armored group of the "South" troop grouping in the Kurakhov direction in the DNR. The equipment helped an assault unit with two T-80BV tanks to destroy an AFU stronghold.

The day before, on November 26, the ministry reported the destruction by the Russian military of four tanks and four AFU combat vehicles on the Kursk direction. In total, the Ukrainian army has lost more than 35,760 servicemen, 221 tanks and 156 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) during the fighting in the mentioned direction.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
