More than 260 road accidents occurred in Russia over the past day

Over the past day on Russian roads there were more than 260 accidents, in which 30 people were killed and 323 injured. This was reported to "Izvestia" on Wednesday, November 27, in the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

As a result of 87 accidents, 45 of which occurred at crosswalks and 42 outside their zone of action, five pedestrians were killed, another 86 were injured of varying severity. Among the injured pedestrians were 20 children, 13 of whom were injured at crosswalks.

With the participation of buses on Tuesday, 21 accidents were recorded, in which two people were killed and 22 were injured. The cause of seven accidents with buses was violation of traffic rules by their drivers.

Over the past day there were eight accidents involving drunk drivers and six more accidents in which drivers refused medical examination. There were no fatalities in such accidents, but 23 people, including one child, were injured. The State Automobile Inspectorate urged road users not to remain indifferent to the problem of drunkenness at the wheel and timely report to the police about drivers who behave inadequately on the road and drive in an inebriated state.

With the participation of minors 33 accidents were registered, as a result of which there are no dead children, 37 young road users were injured, 16 of them - passengers of vehicles.

"We remind drivers of the need to carry out the transportation of children in strict compliance with the current safety rules. Also remember that the life and health of young passengers depend entirely on your skills, driving experience, well-being and law-abiding behavior on the road: refuse dangerous maneuvers and violations of the permitted speed limit. Be attentive, careful and never be distracted behind the wheel, controlling the traffic situation", - said "Izvestia" the head of the department of road safety propaganda and prevention of child traffic injuries of the Main Department of Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, police colonel Sergei Hrantsevich.

In addition, due to worsening weather conditions and the danger of avalanches in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, traffic on the federal highway A-161 Vladikavkaz - Nizhny Lars - border with the Republic of Georgia in the direction of exit from Russia is temporarily stopped.

In Krasnoyarsk Krai, due to snow, snowstorms and gusty winds, traffic on a 17-kilometer section of the highway from Norilsk to the airport was blocked all last night. In the Jewish Autonomous Region, due to snowfall, traffic for buses and trucks is temporarily restricted on the federal highway R-297 "Amur" (Chita - Never - Svobodny - Arkhara - Birobidzhan - Khabarovsk) from 1752 to 2102 km.

When planning long-distance trips in these regions, motorists were advised to monitor the technical serviceability of their vehicles, timely change of tires according to the season, weather forecasts and media reports from the places of road closures or traffic restrictions. If possible, you should refrain from traveling, and in urban areas to transfer to public transport.

On the eve of the State Duma adopted in the first reading of the bill on the introduction of a fine of up to 5 thousand rubles for repeated driving without a MTPL policy. Now the fine under Part 1 of Article 12.37 of the Administrative Code ("Driving during the period not provided for by the policy, or transferring control to a driver not included in the contract") is Br500 and Br800 under Part 2 of the same article ("Driving without a valid policy").
